First Workshop on (Non)Motherhood Held at Academy of Applied Arts in Rijeka

We remain connected with the Acting and Media Studies program of Academy of Applied Arts in Rijeka where we met and graduated together! It always brings us joy when our former professors invite us to collaborate — this time in the form of a small series of workshops as part of the Community Engagement course. Together with director Rajna Racz, we are exploring the topic of (non)motherhood both theoretically and practically.

As we develop the performance Mothers, we aim to bring the process of collectively devised, authorial theatre closer to acting students, while also exploring socially relevant topics. The process is connected to research carried out by students from the Department of Cultural Studies at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Rijeka, under the mentorship of assistant Dunja Matić Benčić. The course Community Engagement is led by Assoc. Prof. Nataša Antulov and senior assistant Milica Czerny Urban.
