Premiere of the play “Mothers” at Ulysses Theatre

Following the plays Grannies and Girls directed by Tjaša Črnigoj, we are proud to present our new documentary performance, Mothers, directed by Rajna Racz!

The play Mothers, which concludes our “women's trilogy,” explores a woman’s decision about motherhood. We are honored that our premiere on July 11 will open the 25th season of Ulysses Theatre. The play will be performed in the courtyard of the Ethnographic Museum on Veliki Brijun also on 12 and 13 July, and the boat from Fažana departs at 8 PM.

The founders and directors of Ulysses Theatre, Lenka Udovički and Rade Šerbedžija, were our acting professors at the Academy of Applied Arts in Rijeka, where we studied together. In addition to teaching at the Academy, they gave us opportunities to learn and grow through the professional productions of their theatre. Over the past 10 years, we’ve performed in a number of Ulysses productions: Shakespeare Summer Nights – Variations, Rhinoceros, Othello, Antigone – 2000 Years Later... We congratulate Ulysses Theatre on 25 incredible years and are grateful to be part of its story!

Mothers is a co-production between the Igralke Collective, Ulysses Theatre, Kuća Nahero, and Maska Ljubljana. Premieres are also planned in the co-producers’ cities: Rijeka, Zagreb, and Ljubljana. We’re looking forward to the first audience reactions and to the life of this new performance!
