GAMES

Improvisational performance

Games are different every time, we performed them once, and we want to bring them back as soon as we can!

When: 16 August 2022

Where: Beach Bar Prasowski Stage, Rijeka, Croatia

Instead of a script, there will be improvisation. Instead of security, there will be risk. Instead of perfection, there will be failure. What is certain is that there will be games.

Igralke present "Games", where they will step onto the stage as improvisers into the unknown, guided by the "director" Guillaume Boit, who, in communication with the audience, will assign different challenges and rules of the game. With improvised music by Osman Eyublu, the performers only know that they will work together, here and now, ready to reveal their vulnerabilities and celebrate mistakes that would otherwise be considered failures.

Will you play with us?

Igralke take the stage after completing an improvisation training program as part of the Ulysses Theater Summer School on Mali Brijun.

“... if the performance goes well, you will feel like you’ve watched a bunch of kind people working wonderfully together, unafraid of failure. It’s therapeutic to be in such company, shouting and cheering, and maybe even volunteering to improvise with them. With a bit of luck, you will feel like you’ve been at an amazing party; great parties don’t depend on the amount of alcohol, but on positive interactions.”

“You must risk, be ready to fail, otherwise the audience will start seeing your work as show business and expect it to be better and better every time, but it’s not like that. You perform risking in search of a miracle. (...) When you take risks, the audience will understand it and keep coming back to you, because miracles will happen—even though not all the time. That would be fantastic show business. But show business hides all imperfections, it covers all the flaws. (...) In football, everything counts because of the goals that aren’t scored.”
