"Girls" closed Ruta Festival in Ljubljana

The Ruta Festival (Regional Theatre Union) is the only active theatre festival that brings together theatres from across the ex-Yugoslav region, and we are thrilled to have had the opportunity to perform Girls, directed by Ljubljana-based Tjaša Črnigoj, on 3 February at Ljubljana City Theatre.

From 29 January to 3 February 2025, Ljubljana City Theatre hosted performances from city theatres representing six former Yugoslav republics. Participating theatres included Belgrade Drama Theatre, Drama Theatre Skopje, Kamerni Teatar 55 from Sarajevo, the Cultural Centre Tivat, Ulysses Theatre from Zagreb, and Ljubljana City Theatre. We are grateful to Ulysses Theatre for inviting us to perform in their slot and for giving us the honor of closing this wonderful festival!

This was the largest venue we have played at so far, with over 300 audience members, and it was also the biggest round of applause we've ever received—the longest standing ovation from the entire audience! Thank you, Ruta! Thank you, Ljubljana City Theatre! We hope to see you again!
