12 Mar 2026“Girls” at Festivals, from Čakovec to Frankfurt
Our performance Girls, directed by Tjaša Črnigoj, will be presented at two festivals for young audiences in February 2026, one in Čakovec, Croatia, and the other in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
On Wednesday, 18 February 2026, at 11:00, the performance will be staged at the Centre for Culture Čakovec as part of the Non-Violence Vol. 2 Festival. The festival brings together theatre performances and expert discussions aimed at fostering social dialogue on how to build a society free from violence, with a particular focus on the challenges young people face today.
As the organisers put it: "This festival is not merely a series of events; it is our shared, active protest against indifference and our collective commitment to empathy, acceptance, and mutual respect." Following the performance of Girls (14+), we will take part in a panel discussion on emotional, psychological, and reproductive violence.
Our international journey continues in Germany at the 32nd Starke Stücke International Theatre Festival for Young Audiences in the Rhine-Main region, one of Europe's leading theatre festivals for young audiences. Running from 20 February to 3 March 2026, the festival presents outstanding theatre productions for children and young people from across Europe. Girls will be performed on 22 February at 17:00 and 23 February at 10:00 at the Titania Theater in Frankfurt am Main, accompanied by a workshop for interested audience members.
We are delighted that our documentary theatre production Girls, although not originally created specifically for young audiences, resonates so strongly with them. Through personal, honest, and direct storytelling, the performance explores sexuality and the reproductive rights of women across generations, issues that have unfortunately become even more urgent since the production premiered in 2023.
