“Mothers” set off on a regional tour
27.10.2025."Girls" once again in Switzerland
Following the Audience Award we received at the Zürcher Theater Spektakel in August, we are thrilled to return to Switzerland! Théâtre Vidy–Lausanne is one of the most significant and renowned theatres not only in Switzerland but in all of Europe, and we are deeply honored to perform Girls, directed by Tjaša Črnigoj, there five times between 3 and 8 October 2025.
On this tour, for the first time, the roles of the two Igralke will be played by alternates — young performers from the Acting and Media program in Rijeka, Klara Kovačić and Matea Tkalčević.
Théâtre Vidy in Lausanne is known for its innovative approach to the performing arts and for its long-term collaborations with some of the most important contemporary directors, choreographers, and artistic collectives. It is a theatre that carefully selects the projects it presents, with a focus on aesthetic innovation, social engagement, and originality of expression.
Alongside Girls, our lecture-performance Sex Education II: Fight has also been selected, so for the first time, on 4 and 5 October, we will perform these two pieces on the same day — together forming a diptych!
Sex Education II: Fight was created in parallel with Girls, also directed by Tjaša Črnigoj, and co-authored by Črnigoj with the Igralke Sendi Sotlar (née Bakotić) and Vanda Velagić, as well as Tijana Todorović and Lene Lekše. It was produced in co-production with the Slovenian Youth Theatre, Maska Ljubljana, and City of Women (Ljubljana, Slovenia).
This diptych of ours, created in 2023, has received as many as 14 awards over the past two years, including the Special Jovan Ćirilov Award and the Audience Award at last year’s Bitef Festival (for Sex Education II: Fight). We hope to perform it again sometime in its full, diptych form!
A huge thank you to Théâtre Vidy for the invitation — and we hope this won’t be our last visit to beautiful Switzerland 🙂
